Master’s Degree

Objectives

The Master’s Degree program trains highly qualified specialists in interlinguistic communication, with competencies that include translation, revision, and adaptation of texts (technical or literary/artistic, including for publishing purposes), multilingual communication for cultural or tourism and commercial purposes, as well as information and international cooperation at the Italian, European, and international levels.

The primary objective of the program is therefore to provide advanced competencies in at least two modern languages, with particular attention to specialized discourse and terminology. Advanced linguistic and metalinguistic knowledge in the selected languages is complemented by technical, methodological, and critical skills in the fields of literature, linguistics, language teaching methodology, and international relations. This includes in-depth study of the cultural issues related to the geographical areas connected to the selected languages, as well as the necessary analytical tools for communication and translation practices in both general and professional contexts.

The program is structured into two distinct curricula, allowing students to tailor and enrich the learning outcomes according to their specific interests and needs. In addition to the study of the selected languages common to all pathways:

European Languages and Literatures
This curriculum allows students to deepen their theoretical reflection on the nature and implications of language, as well as on the historical, cultural, and literary issues related to the areas in which the reference languages are spoken.

Modern Languages for International Cooperation
This curriculum enables in-depth study of the social and cultural conditions of the relevant regions, as well as the legal and economic tools necessary to operate in transnational contexts. It prepares students to manage, design, implement, and evaluate intervention, support, and development policies in multicultural settings.

The program is delivered in Italian language; for further information, please contact admissions@unimarconi.com
