ESF-SI-2024-LTU-01 “Innovative Approaches Tackling Long Term Unemployment"

FUSE targets regions with significant labor shortages in the food sector. Our social innovation goal is to create a transformative framework that integrates the Shared Kitchen Incubator model with proven elements from subsidized employment programs, promoting innovative pathways to stable employment in the food sector in Roscommon and Leitrim counties (Ireland), Lombardy (Italy), Nitra and nationwide (Slovakia), and Gipuzkoa province (Spain).
By providing hands-on training and creating job opportunities through an innovative subsidized employment program, FUSE aims to tackle long-term unemployment in areas where the demand for skilled workers is high.
FUSE seeks to generate lasting impact in the following areas:

  • Employment and skills development: FUSE will equip participants with practical skills in the culinary and food industry, giving them the confidence and capabilities needed to secure stable employment in a sector with strong demand for skilled labor.
  • Capacity building for local organizations: Employment agencies, businesses, and community organizations will strengthen their ability to address workforce shortages. By aligning training with the specific needs of the food industry, FUSE will enhance job placement and foster collaboration among local stakeholders, creating a supportive ecosystem.
  • Economic and social impact: FUSE will help reduce unemployment by addressing the labor shortage in the food sector through 120 subsidized work placements and upskilling pathways for 600 people in high-demand areas.
