Dual Career Program

Guglielmo Marconi University has launched the Dual Career Program, an initiative aimed at students enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s degree programs who are engaged in competitive sports activities. The goal is to promote a sustainable balance between an academic career and a sports career through a flexible and inclusive educational model.

Who the Program is for

The program is intended for students who fall into one of the following categories:

  • Athletes or coaches with national or international qualifications
  • Professional athletes and coaches
  • Referees and competition judges of national or international standing

The specific requirements for each category are available in the official Regulations.

How to access the Program

Students enrolled in UniMarconi degree programs who meet the requirements must:

  1. Submit an application every year via the MyUnimarconi platform by accessing the dedicated form in the UniMarconi Risponde section
  2. Attach the application form for participation in the Dual Career Program
  3. Attach certification from the National Sports Federation (FSN) or Associated Sports Discipline (DSA), drawn up according to the model “Dual Career Requirements Certification – Athletes/Coaches”, signed by the responsible federation official

For clarifications, students who are already enrolled may contact their reference Department using the contact details indicated in the Contacts section.

Benefits Provided

Students admitted to the program may benefit from numerous facilities, including:

  • Certification of student-athlete status in the Diploma Supplement
  • Possibility of access to a scholarship (for non-professional athletes with significant sporting results at national and international level)
  • Academic support (Career Service, “Talk to Us” help desk, Still-Up, tutoring)
  • Possibility of part-time enrollment
  • Possibility of obtaining suspension of the study program, which also includes suspension of university fees. The suspension request must be justified by events related to the student’s sports activity that temporarily prevent continuation of studies.
  • Possibility of accessing synchronous meetings with the lecturer and/or subject tutor for in-depth study, in cases where the originally scheduled virtual classroom date is incompatible with the student-athlete’s participation in official sports events of national and international importance (National Championships, European Championships, World Championships, Olympic Games) or official training camps.
  • Recognition of CFU credits in accordance with the Regulations on Participation in University Championships as official representatives of the University

Duties of Student-Athletes

Students admitted to the program undertake to:

  • Authorize the free use of their image by the University for institutional and promotional purposes
  • Participate in at least two institutional events as testimonials for the Dual Career Program
