According to recent studies, over 90% of jobs require digital skills, and around 900,000 professionals in Europe, including many young people, lack the necessary skills to work in the ICT sector, resulting in a risk of professional marginalization.
In this context, the EMPLOY project, coordinated by the Istanbul Valiligi Government Organization, aims to improve the digital literacy of primary and lower secondary school students in line with labor market needs. The project places particular emphasis on young people at risk of social exclusion and school dropout, migrants, or individuals with socio-economic difficulties.
EMPLOY develops an active learning system with the goal of building and enhancing the digital skills required in the ICT sector and related fields. The proposed methodology is validated through the creation of a serious game that aligns with school curricula and the professional requirements of the labor market.
