Course Program and Learning Objectives

The professional training course “Basics of Data Protection” is aimed at companies, independent professionals, business consultants, compliance officers, and corporate legal advisors, with the goal of providing the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) in a precise and professional manner.

The course program covers an in-depth study of the following topics:

• The new European Regulation on data protection EU 679/2016 (“GDPR”);
• The Privacy Code, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018: scope of application and regulation;
• The new right to personal data protection and the principles of the GDPR;
• The rights of data subjects;
• The roles of Data Controller and Data Processor;
• Data processing security and the obligations to ensure GDPR compliance (security planning, prescriptive security, risk-based approach, impact assessment and security measures, data breach management, privacy by default and by design);
• The Data Protection Officer (DPO);
• Supervisory authorities and the sanctioning system (administrative fines and criminal offenses);
• The system of protections.
