“Update in Pediatric Dermatology”
Overview
With the advancement of dermatological sciences, the need has emerged to dedicate specific attention to the various areas of interest and intervention for dermatologists, and more generally for physicians who actively oversee, with both necessity and dedication, any health issues involving the skin.
There is growing awareness that a modern concept of healthcare requires a holistic and integrated consideration of individual health, which can only result from an interdisciplinary training process, no longer bound by the rigid paths of traditional learning.
In recent decades, attention to children’s health needs has steadily increased. The reduced incidence of many major diseases and the substantial decline in infectious pathologies have allowed the progressive recognition of issues, including dermatological ones, previously considered of secondary importance. Conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and acne—to name a few—have come to occupy a central role in family and social life, receiving the attention they deserve. A large portion of the health issues pediatricians encounter daily in outpatient care directly or indirectly involve dermatology, creating an increasing need for specialized training and continuous updating.
The course includes sequential modules of theoretical and practical training and a final exam, whose successful completion will allow participants to obtain a legally recognized qualification in specialized training.
Objectives
The course aims to provide participants with an up-to-date overview of the correct clinical and dermoscopic interpretation of the main skin diseases and lesions in children and adolescents. Participants will be guided through medical and surgical therapeutic pathways, aligned with the latest international guidelines, enabling them to acquire the skills necessary to manage the main and most common pediatric skin conditions.
Target Audience
This Advanced University Training Course is intended for all graduates in Medicine and Surgery who hold a specialization in Dermatology and/or Pediatrics, as well as residents in these two disciplines.
