Objectives
The Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage: Knowledge, Management, and Enhancement prepares professionals with a strong humanistic foundation, capable of bridging the world of culture with new technologies. The aim is to innovate the ways in which cultural heritage is managed, promoted, protected, and preserved by integrating traditional knowledge with the opportunities offered by the digital revolution and new media. This context requires multidisciplinary skills that combine classical learning with modern disciplines, in order to train flexible professionals ready to work in various areas of the cultural sector.
After a solid humanistic education based on core courses in history, language and literature, and anthropology, the degree program progressively expands in the second and third years to include a wide range of specialized disciplines focused on the study, enhancement, conservation, and protection of cultural heritage. Cultural heritage is understood in its broadest sense in terms of content and methods, encompassing archaeology, art history, archival and library sciences, demo-ethno-anthropological and environmental studies, as well as the relevant legislation.
The structure of the curriculum into specific tracks or internal pathways, together with the availability of elective courses, allows students to deepen their knowledge and skills in the areas of greatest personal interest. This is further supported by participation in virtual laboratories focused on current topics related to the evolving professional skills required by the labor market.
Art History Track:
This pathway is intended for students interested in historical studies, art history, and the protection and enhancement of artistic heritage. It provides a solid education in the visual arts from antiquity to the contemporary era, with courses dedicated to the cataloguing and classification of cultural assets, as well as the use of new digital technologies for their conservation.
Archaeology Track:
Designed for those who wish to understand past civilizations through the study of their material remains, this pathway combines archaeological disciplines with the analysis of literary, historical, and anthropological sources from classical antiquity to the Middle Ages. Particular emphasis is placed on research methodology and the use of digital technologies to document, preserve, and enhance archaeological finds.
Demo-Ethno-Anthropological Track:
This pathway focuses on the study of popular cultures and traditions, with special attention to intangible cultural heritage, social practices, and cultural diversity. It integrates anthropological training with historical, artistic, archival, and digital competencies, providing tools to analyze and promote collective memory and community knowledge.
Archival Studies Track:
This pathway is aimed at students who wish to acquire skills in methodologies for the preservation, management, and enhancement of documentary and archival heritage. It combines a solid historical and literary education with specialized courses in archival science, library science, and the digitization of cultural and documentary heritage.
The degree program provides the foundations and tools needed either to enter the workforce immediately or to continue further studies—such as master’s degrees or postgraduate programs—allowing students to specialize according to their interests and aptitudes.
