Objectives

The Program in Humanities provides students with the methodological, critical, and disciplinary tools necessary for an in-depth understanding of European civilization, from its classical and medieval foundations to its contemporary configuration. The primary objective is to develop knowledge in the literary, artistic, linguistic, philological-critical, historical-philosophical, and geographical fields, in order to prepare students for the continuation of their studies at the postgraduate level.

In addition, the program aims to train graduates who are able to contribute to the study and enhancement of the historical, literary, linguistic, philosophical, and artistic heritage of European civilization, and to pursue professional careers in the fields of information, dissemination, and communication.

With its four curricula, the program offers a broad and diversified range of study paths, designed to meet the varied interests and needs of students:

  • Classical Humanities: focused on the study of classical languages and literatures and ancient history;
  • Modern Humanities: focused on the study of modern literatures (particularly Italian literature), with significant historical and comparative perspectives and attention to new media;
  • Modern Languages and Literatures: focused on the study of European languages and literatures, also from a comparative perspective, with substantial emphasis on linguistic and philological studies;
  • Literature, Philosophy, and Art: focused in particular on the relationships between literature, art, and philosophical thought, as well as on the historical-social contexts and intellectual movements in which artistic production takes place.

The program is delivered in Italian language; for further information, please contact admissions@unimarconi.com
