The Erasmus Traineeship Programme offers students and graduates the opportunity to carry out a traineeship period at institutions, organizations, companies, research centers, universities, etc., located in all countries of the European Union.
Non-eligible host organizations are excluded, including: EU institutions and their specialized agencies; organizations managing EU programmes; non-European branches of organizations whose legal headquarters are in one of the countries participating in the programme. The full list is available at: https://europa.eu/about-eu/institutions-bodies/index_it.htm.
The Erasmus Traineeship grant varies depending on the destination country.
Erasmus Traineeship is an excellent opportunity to gain work placement experience abroad and to enrich one’s CV with new professional, transversal, and language skills.
Who can participate
- Students regularly enrolled: in this case, the traineeship must be fully completed before the discussion of the degree thesis.
- Final-year students (graduands): provided that they are regularly enrolled and that the application is submitted at least one month before the degree thesis discussion. The traineeship must be carried out within 12 months of obtaining the degree.
How to find a host organization
To consult the list of Partner Organizations, students may contact the Erasmus Office, which will indicate organizations that have already hosted our students with a high satisfaction rate.
Students are also free to independently identify an organization of interest. In any case, it is recommended to gather as much information as possible, including through initial informal contacts, so that the traineeship experience can become a true opportunity for personal and professional growth.
There are many websites where internship opportunities can be found, including:
How to apply
The University publishes Erasmus Traineeship calls for applications twice a year (March and September). These can be consulted on the Erasmus+ Programme page of the University website, where all the steps required to apply are specified.
Duration of mobility
Mobility for traineeship has a minimum duration of two months and a maximum of 12 months for each cycle of studies. Within these limits, students may decide the duration of the mobility period, also in agreement with the staff of the company or organization where the traineeship will take place.
Interview schedule
After the closing of the call, the Erasmus Office sets up an interview schedule with students who have applied for traineeship and are deemed eligible according to the call requirements.
The interview is both linguistic and motivational and is aimed at identifying suitable host destinations.
Required documents: CV and motivation letter.
Before departure
The Learning Agreement for Traineeship (Mobility Agreement for Traineeship) must be completed only after the formal approval of the traineeship by the Erasmus Office, the host organization, and the student.
Grant
Completion of the procedure includes payment of the first installment of the grant, equal to 75% of the total amount, by bank transfer before the start of the mobility, as provided for in the financial agreement signed by the student and the University.
The total grant amount is calculated based on the duration of the mobility and the monthly amount established for each destination country.
Upon return
Upon returning from abroad, the student must submit the following documents to the Erasmus Office, which are required for payment of the second installment of the grant:
- the Learning Agreement for Traineeship, duly completed and signed by the host institution, including in the After the mobility section a description of the skills acquired and results achieved by the student;
