Asexuality, once considered a disorder, is now recognized as a sexual orientation, yet it continues to be misunderstood and pathologized, resulting in epistemic injustice and discrimination. By challenging dominant ideas about sexuality, asexuality demonstrates that dimensions such as sexual attraction, libido, consent, and sexual favorability are distinct concepts that can combine in different ways.
The ASEX project aims to improve social understanding of asexuality and to develop a comprehensive tool for measuring (a)sexuality, promoting epistemic justice and sexual health through collaboration with experts and activists across various fields.
