An internship is a period of orientation and training carried out in a work environment.
There are different types of internships depending on their purpose:
Curricular Internships
Curricular Internships are educational pathways aimed at obtaining an academic degree, focused on orientation and professional training. They are particularly important for students with no prior work experience, as they offer experiential learning that helps develop awareness of the world of work and understanding of the social aspects underlying professional relationships.
They are activated in the academic year in which they are included in the study plan, by completing a training project that includes the details of the applicant, the host organization, and the activities to be carried out during the practical experience. If not mandatory, the curricular internship may be replaced—upon specific request by the student to the Internships Office—by Additional Educational Activities.
Professional Internships
Professional Internships are required for those who wish to register with a professional association and are regulated by specific agreements with the relevant professional bodies. The University offers the following internships:
- Professional internships for Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts
- Professional internships for Labour Consultants
- Professional internships for Notaries
- Professional internships for Lawyers
- Professional internships for L24 graduates for registration with Section B of the professional register
Practical Evaluative Internships
Practical Evaluative Internships in psychology consist of professional training activities whose completion is mandatory in order to access the Practical Evaluative Examination. Passing this examination is required to register in Section A of the Register of Psychologists.
Extracurricular Internships
An extracurricular internship is a period of training and orientation aimed at graduates, carried out in companies/organizations and professional firms. It is essential for gaining concrete work experience and facilitating professional entry into the labor market.
