Conducted in collaboration with the Integria Foundation and the Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic Medicine

Overview

Sport is an increasingly widespread social phenomenon, involving millions of people worldwide. This phenomenon has led to the spread of conceptual and operational errors, including in the field of psychology. It is necessary to expand knowledge and acquire additional operational tools to overcome these errors and improve understanding of sport.

In particular, sports psychology must be based on a scientific approach that allows for critical evaluation of the information and statements it references. It is important to clearly define the terms and concepts used and to adopt a critical and scientific approach to research and application.

Objectives

The Sports Psychology course aims to raise awareness among students of the misconceptions and confusion often associated with sport, and to provide the knowledge needed to address the mental, emotional, and relational mechanisms underlying performance.

Inspired by quotes, statements, and beliefs uttered by athletes, coaches, and managers, the course aims to help students understand how limiting these concepts can be for athletes who want to fully express their potential.
