The fourth industrial revolution is completely transforming the labor market. Machines can now replace humans even in decision-making and analytical tasks, and they are capable of learning. The added value of people in today’s and tomorrow’s productive world is linked to what machines do not know and cannot do: creativity, lateral thinking, and communication. For those entering or already in the workforce, as well as for those managing simple and complex organizations, it is important to manage the key dimensions underlying soft skills, with particular attention to creativity and lateral thinking.

Scientific evidence tells us that the current education and human resource management system does not promote the development of these skills.
